Areas of expertise |
I contribute to research concerning factors that influence the physical activity and health behaviours of children and adolescents and the prevention of paediatric obesity through intervention strategies. My research also focuses on examining the motivational underpinnings of health behaviours, in particular using self-determination theory to understand mechanisms of behaviour change and contextual factors (such as parenting strategies) that affect motivation.
My PhD research focussed on the motivational dynamics of adult’s goals for exercise using Self-determination theory as an underpinning psychological framework.
