Areas of expertise |
I am currently studying protein structure and function using principally NMR spectroscopy. My main interest is the study of cancer related proteins using biological NMR. I am also interested in the polyketide synthase enzymes from Streptomycetes that are involved in the biosynthesis of numerous important antibiotics. This research takes a structural approach to the problem. My other main areas of interest are the chemokine field and the application of NMR for screening potential small ligands for proteins of pharmaceutical interest. Increasingly we are also using X-ray crystallography for the structure determination of larger proteins.
