Areas of expertise |
We are using genomics and proteomics to study the molecular processes underlying reoxygenation injury in children undergoing repair of cyanotic congenital heart disease. This unbiased approach in human heart samples has the potential to provide critical clues to the next generation of therapeutic treatments aimed at myocardial protection. Additionally we are interested in the role of NOS and NOX isoforms in the hypoxia-induced NO production and the ERK 1/2 signalling pathway in cardiac myocytes.
