I am a scientist who is interested in discovering new methods of treating cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis, restenosis and vein graft disease. I employ many different techniques to do this, including targeted drug delivery, nanotechnology and gene therapy.
I was a member of ‘Fresh Science 2007’, a communication competition for Early Career Researchers sponsored by the Australian and Victorian Governments. This involved producing a press release on my work, resulting in interviews for radio and newspapers and talks to metropolitan and regional school groups. I enjoy developing creative responses to professional and other problems, including the development of disease treatments.
