I carry out research in astrophysics and lecture in physics and astronomy.
My primary research interests are in extragalactic astrophysics and X-ray astronomy. Current projects focus primarily on the environments, active nuclei, and jets of radio galaxies, and the multi-wavelength emission of all classes of radio-loud AGN. My publication list is available via a search on the Astrophysics Data System.
Earlier years were spent as a research scientist in the United States, at the Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics at NASA/GSFC, at the Center for Astrophysics and Space Sciences at UC-San Diego, and at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), to which I remain affiliated. I helped to establish the Chandra Science Center where I was a scientist for several years. I've been on the science teams for Constellation-X and XEUS , which were later combined as the International X-ray Observatory (IXO).
