Appreciate nature with pencil and paper; Sheena Vallely

20 August 2017, 5.30 PM - 20 August 2017, 8.00 PM

University of Bristol Botanic Garden

At the calmest time of day, with pencil and paper in hand and when the sound of a bird or a bee or the sight of a dragonfly can be your only distraction, you will likely experience Bristol Botanic Garden at its best. Each class will provide you with guidance and instruction to exercise your observational skills and to improve your drawing abilities. Each evening you will be witness to a different part of the garden, with an ever changing variety of form, smell and colour in this unique botanical collection. For all abilities and for those who wish to make drawing an important and a regular practice.

20th August

Pick Up a Pencil Group, or Pupgroup, is an ever expanding drawing group led by Sheena Vallely who will host this unique drawing course in the grounds of the Botanic Garden. Sheena is an artist and lecturer who has recieved awards and commissions for her work in painting and printmaking in Britain and Europe. See more at and at
