UBWRFC News
September 24th 2010
It’s that time of the year again people, and my days isn’t it exciting.
First of all, a huge woop for the amazing Kathy Ecsy who has managed to get us sponsorship from The White Harte and VIP Bristol! Hurrays! Just click on our Sponsors page to find links to VIP Bristol’s website and The White Harte’s Facebook page.
Second, Vicky Hail has a massive list of themes to choose from for our Mothers and Daughters social. A few words from she;
I have come up with a few themes but I don’t know what has been done in previous years etc. so here are some that I have thought of;
- kings/queens & their jesters/nobles/slaves
- knights & dragons
- heaven (angles) & hell (devils)
- superheroes & villains
- cops & robber/chavs
- doctor & patient
- fox hunting where the daughters are foxes and start a bar crawl and mums are hunters and have to catch up
Sarah Wray our resident ‘swanner’ has been delving into the depths of Tour research and found loads of different places and packages. Hells to the yeah!
Plus, our fab treasurers from past and present, (Sparrow and Ruth) have been working their magic on the club's finances.
If you’ve got any news to report, then don’t hesitate to contact Liv Matthews, aka webmaster for UBWRFC at om9038@bristol.ac.uk.

We're on Twitter! Okay so it seems pointless now, but what about
when you can't make a game, and you'd like a blow by blow account of
what's going on? Well, by following our Twitter account, you can do
just that!

We're collating a new, alumni database in the hope that we can host an Old Girls match next year. Don't forget to email Sophie (our fab Club Captain) with an email address that she can contact you via, if you're not coming back to training next season.

Its started to rain and I have seen mud for the first time in months which means rugby season is definitely on its way! Please try and do as much fitness work as you can before coming back to uni - it will make our first few matches much easier if we're already fit enough and will mean we can concentrate more on skills and contact in training.
A couple of ideas:
- get in contact with a local club and try an join their pre-season training
- for those of you in bristol Bristol Ladies would love to have you for their pre-season training Thursday nights at Dings, 7-8.30pm
Also UBU Sport are organising a pre-season which we can join in with if there are enough of us. It would be starting from 20th September but we can start later. If there are enough of us around I think it would be a really really good thing to do so please please let me know if you can make it down early. Pre-season socials will obviously be compulsory for everyone that attends.
