Description including Unit Aims

A substantial and original piece of research work of engineering relevance at Master's level which may be wholly research or include aspects of novel aerospace vehicle and system design engineering. Integral to this project are project management skills, communication skills, reasoning skills, originality and creativity in problem solving.

The individual research project is stipulated to be one that focuses on multi-disciplinary design, integration, sizing and aerospace systems optimisation. Scope exists for any sponsoring organisation to cooperate in the choice of a suitable subject. Upon review and approval by the academic staff, individual research projects undertaken by sponsored students can be conducted in situ.
