Description including Unit Aims

This is a compulsory 30 cp unit.

Aim: To develop a portfolio of core skills to underpin a successful research career.

Intended Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the unit, the students will be able to: undertake an original research activity, plan and prepare a concise, written technical report, orally present a technical subject, including handling questions and tailoring technical and specialist knowledge and information to a broader audience, and adopt a high standard of record keeping and management of information.

A. Composites Literature Review B. Numerical Modeling of Composites C. Communicating Research D. Journal Club

Ongoing project supervision provided by project supervisor(s).

Assessment Information

Short discussion report after every group discussion A Final individual oral presentation Report outline, final report and presentation.
