This unit provides an opportunity for the student to spend time with a professional archaeological or heritage organisation in a working capacity that is relevant to their chosen MA or pathway. The student will be expected to spend three weeks with this organisation or project and to gain relevant experience.
The unit is designed to provide a professional experience for the student within their chosen pathway or programme. It will typically be based with a archaeological or heritage organisation (including museums) and will provide
Placement - pre-training in house and then three weeks with approved organisation to be broken down as: 20 hours (training and placement arrangements 120 hours at the placement 60 hours report compilation and post placement interview.
The unit will be assessed by a written report of 3000 words AND a diary or logbook detailing activities undertaken during the placement.
The student will also be interviewed on return, and the award of the unit will be subject to a satisfactory report from the placement organisation (which will not form a direct part of the assessment).
