Description including Unit Aims
Environmental Systems
Aims:
- Develop knowledge of environmental systems; in particular, ecosystems, resources and human impact on the global environment:
- Provide understanding of the working of these systems and to enable the student to make technical and management decisions in the light of this understanding:
- Use this understanding to critically review international, national and organisational policies with respect to sustainable development.
Intended Learning Outcomes
- Undertake a critical analysis of the environmental impact of human activities such as agriculture and industry:
- Critically assess an environmental policy statement and suggest improvements:
- Apply a holistic environmental perspective to decisions in the workplace.
