Description including Unit Aims

This Unit complements the existing units of the FD. The module will provide insights into specific theories and skills in relation to dance therapy, that are readily transferable in to a verbal counselling/helping therapy framework. It will enable students to develop self-awareness and explore issues of personal development using a non-verbal, body focused approach. It will introduce to students the therapeutic value of dance and other related art forms. It will give students the opportunity to look at themselves and their relationships with others, in a creative and experiential setting.
