The dissertation provides the opportunity for students to specialise in a research area related to archaeology and ancient history, and to provide experience in research planning, execution, and communication.
Aims:
Students will be able to apply the skills and knowledge that they have gained as part of their degree and complete a sustained piece of academic research on a topic of their choice, that relates to archaeology and/or anthropology.
Students will have gained experience in research on an original topic, following advice from their supervisors. The dissertation will be well illustrated and compiled to a high standard, that may in exceptional cases, be worthy of publication.
Supervision by a relevant advisor.
The dissertation is weighted 100% for 60 credits with a maximum word length of 12,000 words.
