This unit is designed for non-native-speakers of English at upper intermediate/advanced level who wish to further develop their English language knowledge and skills in a business and professional context. There are four broad components: Language Development, which involves grammar consolidation and vocabulary expansion; Business Writing Skills, which has a specific focus on commercial correspondence and reports; Business Reading, involving study of texts of current topical relevance of an authentic and semi-authentic nature; and Business Communication Skills, which looks at linguistic aspects of key written and spoken communication situations, such as negotiations, presentations, and meetings. Overall, the unit seeks to build on existing English language knowledge and skills and extend them in the context of topics and tasks relevant to the business and professional world.
