This practice-led unit builds understanding of the concepts, forms, language, collaborative practices, and creative methods in composing music for film. The unit focuses on dramatic screen works and the “feature film” (whether full length or short). The unit runs in parallel with Professional Techniques, so that growing skill in studio technique support the projects set in Film Scoring. It links also to the start of the Portfolio / Dissertation unit, supported by meetings with potential collaborative partners and with industry guests.
