Digitisation Officer, University of Bristol Theatre Collection
The University of Bristol Theatre Collection is recruiting for a Digitisation Officer to work on two Heritage Lottery Funded projects. This is a full time, fixed term contract for 14.5 months.
You must have experience of digitising material including documents and photographs. Experience of Photoshop and an interest in digital imaging and theatre are desirable, as is experience of handling archival material.
As part of the HLF funded project, Protecting and Sharing the Heritage of Britain’s Oldest Theatre, the Digitisation Officer will digitise 5,000 photographs and documents from the Bristol Old Vic Archive and other related archives held in the Theatre Collection (TC). The digitised items will be used at the Bristol Old Vic theatre as part of the onsite interpretation via exhibition, activities and other innovative projects, and will form a long-term educational resource available via the TC.
1,000 items from the Oliver Messel Archive will also be digitised for inclusion in interpretation such as exhibitions and digital content delivered via the web as part of the HLF funded project, Sharing the Messel Magic.
