So.......the brain........what's it all about?

The brain is certainly the most complex organ we possess in our bodies, although it doesn't look like much - a soft mass of tissue that sits in our heads with no moving parts and no muscles to speak of. But we are who we are because of this of this lump of grey and white matter; all our experiences, emotions, thoughts, feelings and personalities are channeled through or embedded in the brain....somewhere......somehow.

This site is dedicated to bringing you closer to seeing how the brain does the amazing things it does and what our current state of knowledge is. For detailed information on research, please visit the main site for the MRC Centre for Synaptic Plasticity.
