Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number and visa information

You need a CAS number to apply for a Tier 4 student visa. It is an electronic reference number and document that contains information about your course and your personal details. Your number is unique to you.

It is not a paper document.

You will be sent a CAS number once you have:

  • received an unconditional offer
  • paid your £300 online deposit.

If you are still waiting for your CAS number please send a copy of your passport to celfs-presessional@bristol.ac.uk.

Combined CAS

A combined CAS covers both your pre-sessional course and your degree course.

The deadline for applying for a CAS is 17 June 2018.

You must have either:

  • paid your £300 online deposit
  • received an unconditional offer for the 6-week pre-sessional course and
  • met the academic conditions for your degree programme and
  • been 0.5 below your English language conditions in only one IELTS skill (if you are 0.5 or more below your language conditions in more than one IELTS skill, you are not eligible for a combined CAS. Please email celfs-presessional@bristol.ac.uk if you have any questions).

or

  • paid your £300 online deposit
  • received an unconditional offer for the 14-week, 10-week or 6-week pre-sessional course and
  • received an unconditional offer for your degree programme.

After 17 June 2018, you will not be able to get a combined CAS.

Your CAS will only cover your pre-sessional course. You must apply for a separate visa for your degree course.
