Keeping safe on campus

Thank you for wearing a face covering inside University buildings, in shops and on public transport. If exempt from wearing a face covering, collect a green exemption lanyard from Card Services in Royal Fort Lodge.‌‌

Remember, washing your hands regularly reduces the spread of coronavirus and the "winter vomiting bug", norovirus.

Testing over the winter break

If you're staying in the UK for the winter break, but leaving Bristol, please take a lateral flow test before you travel. If you are travelling outside the UK, please read our advice for international students. Free home test kits are available across campus, from a local pharmacy, or to order online.

Please also report your test results online to the NHS whether positive, negative or void.

We wear masks to protect each as much as ourselves. We now have mountains of irrefutable evidence of masks reducing transmission of Covid, and we know Covid is airborne. Wearing a mask makes it less likely you will inhale Covid if someone around you is coughing or sneezing, and similarly if you are carrying Covid, wearing a mask protects others.

Masks help filter out large droplets and small aerosol particles generated in our respiratory tract when we speak, cough and breathe. That’s why wearing a mask indoors, and particularly when in close proximity to people in crowded areas, substantially reduces the risk of spreading COVID-19.
