Information for New Students
We are delighted that you will be joining us for the 2019/20 academic year. Here you can find out what you need to do before you arrive, what’s on offer once you’re here and everything you need to get started.
Before you arrive
If you have not already done so please respond to your offer of study. Applicants who receive a conditional offer will be required to submit all final results to meet their offer conditions by 31st July 2019. Offer holders who will be unable to provide their final results by 31st July 2019 should notify the admissions team as soon as possible.
The Accommodation Office will be accepting applications from 01 May 2019 from offer-holders who are commencing study in September 2019. University accommodation is very popular so although the deadline is 30 June 2019 we recommend an early application.
International students coming to the UK to study full-time must apply for a Student visa. You can check the Student Visa Services (insert the following weblink under student visa services - http://www.bristol.ac.uk/directory/visas/) webpages for information on how to apply for your visa. If you are an international masters applicant now is the time to start thinking about the visa process.
The University will email all students who have accepted their offer with a registration pack containing information about registration and other important matters that you will need to deal with before you arrive. If you have not received this registration email by the end of August, you can also access the documents via the university's New Students webpages. All new students need to register online before they arrive in Bristol. You need your student number (at the top of your offer document), family name and date of birth. The registration process will take 10-15 minutes and you should have access to a printer.
Timetables for the first teaching block seminars are normally available a couple of days after online registration. You can check online via MyBristol after you have registered. Your first teaching day will be on the Monday after Welcome Week. This is the compulsory start date for teaching.
All new students must register in person with their Faculty on Monday 23 September 2019. Information on registration and welcome week will be emailed to you over the summer.
The below resources will help you settle in once you arrive in Bristol, and will enable you to plan your studies and get the most out of your time with us
