A group of PGR students is organising the following Panel Discussion:

What has to be done with Marx Today?

In the first session we will be discussing the contemporary uses and relevance of Marx and Marxism for understanding, challenging and changing the contemporary world.

While Dr Susan Newman (UWE) will focus on Marx's economics, Prof Terrell Carver (University of Bristol) will discuss on the different readings of Marx and his political significance.

Please come along and share with us a vibrant and passionate discussion on current social, cultural and political issues in a context marked by the aftermath of the 2008 economic crisis, the attempts to deep the neoliberal agenda and different experiences of resistance.
