Centre for Ethnicity and Citizenship Seminar Series - Public Lecture

Guest speaker: Peter Oborne (the Spectator and the Daily Mail)

"Islam and the British Conservative Tradition"

Peter Oborne will discuss the relationship between the Conservative Party and Islam. He will argue that for two centuries Conservatives have taken a tolerant approach. However, over the last decade official Conservative thinking has changed towards suspicion and at times hostility. He will argue that this new approach represents a betrayal of traditional Conservatism.

The seminar will be followed by a drinks reception.

This event is open to the public
