American Apocalypse? The US Elections and its Aftermath

8 November 2016, 5.00 PM - 1 November 2016, 6.30 PM

The Priory Road Lecture Theatre, Social Sciences Complex

The event is brought to you by the School of Sociology, Politics, and International Studies
with the support of the Politics Society and the Sociology Society.
We will kick things off with brief prognostications, laments, eulogies, and forebodings from our in-house experts:
Ashley Dodsworth (politics):  Playing the woman's card:  gender and the 2016 US election
John Downer (sociology):  Trump with his finger on the nuclear button
Brad Evans (politics):  Trump and the naked appeal to mythical violence
Paula Surridge (sociology):  The working class authoritarianism behind the US elections
And then we'll follow with debate, discussion, and dismay from all in attendance!
Terrell Carver will do us the honour of presiding over all of this.
The event is free but you must first register on eventbrite:
Please do so soon so as not to be disappointed!
