Olivia Maynard wins Engagement Award – film
1 October 2014
Earlier in the year, the University of Bristol announced that TARG’s Olivia Maynard was the winner of an Engagement Award. This award is given for outstanding achievement in engagement with the general public and other stakeholders in research.
The award to Olivia was in recognition of her research on plain packaging of cigarettes and the impact this research had on tobacco control policies. In addition, Olivia has also run a number of public engagement events, including a stall at the Green Man music festival, at the At-Bristol science museum and at Bristol Bright Night, where she has discussed this research with members of the public. The research conducted by the winners of the Engagement Awards was showcased recently at the University of Bristol ‘Engage’ conference, where Olivia’s work was presented in a short film.
