Bristol Surgical Trials Centre is participating in the ROCs trial
16 September 2015
The ROCS Trial - Bristol Surgical Trials Centre is participating in the ROCs trial (Palliative radiotherapy in addition to self-expanding metal stent for improving dysphagia and survival in advanced oesophageal cancer).
We are involved in the trial design and conduct as well as being a recruiting centre. This trial is led by the Wales Cancer Trials Unit and the CI is Dr Douglas Adamson (Ninewells Hospital). This is an especially difficult trial because participants are often frail and reluctant to participate.
It is, however, recruiting gradually and more centres are opening across the country. Full details can be found in the protocol paper.
