Biography
My research area is Behavioural Operational Research. My research interests are sustainable urban transitions, participatory methods, and theories of practice. I use observational and experimental methods to study how we can support problem structuring processes that are common at the early front-end stage of development projects which are fuzzy and uncertain. My work integrates concerns for intra-organizational development as well as working in partnerships, particularly in large urban development projects.
I am the Theme Lead for the Cabot Institute's City Futures Research theme, which aims to help cities better understand the complex challenges they face, and support their transition to becoming sustainable, resilient, and inclusive places with a high quality of life for all.
I joined the University of Bristol in 2018 having previously been Senior Lecturer in Project Management at the University of Portsmouth. Prior to my life as an academic, I gained industry experience in Risk and Value Management of railway engineering projects and completed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership that focused on export market development with the University of Leeds and a medical device manufacturer based in the UK.
I welcome inquiries for postgraduate supervision in areas that align with my research interests.
