Biography
Having returned to academia from legal practice, Eleanore completed her doctoral studies at University College London, with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. From here she went on to carry out post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge.
Eleanore’s research intersects corporate governance, financial regulation and the digital transformation, drawing on management theory, sociology and economics. Her recent monograph, 'Diversity, Merit and Power in the C-Suite' was published with Hart Publishing which examines who holds positions of power in the UKs most powerful corporations and why. She has published research in various leading law journals including the Modern Law Review, the Journal of Corporate Law Studies, and the European Business Organisation Law Review.
She is a co-investigator on the UKRI and Innovate UK funded project Future Finance, in collaboration with the University of Bristol Management School and the Universities of Glasgow and Bath.
Research interests
Eleanore is a specialist in corporate governance and financial regulation. Her research examines the responsibility of large corporations and their accountability towards to the societies they operate in. This has led to the development of expertise in diversity and corporate culture and the ethical use of AI.
When researching financial institutions, Eleanore's work has focused on the importance of governance practices in reducing risk within systemically important financial market infrastructures in the UK and Europe. In her current work she is collaborating with regional financial organisations to better understand the barriers to innovation and accessibility of financial services to underserved communities.
