Research interests
My interest is in applying molecular spectroscopy to provide detailed information on the structure and properties of molecules, particularly transient ones. My work has included experimental studies, mainly high resolution work using lasers, and theoretical development of methods for interpreting spectra. As part of this research I have released a program, PGOPHER, for simulating molecular spectra. Since the first release in 2005 it has become widely adopted, and is in use by many research groups throughout the world - see http://pgopher.chm.bris.ac.uk for further details. My current work concentrates on maintaining and updating this program to allow it to be applied to as wide a range of systems as possible, particularly to make it easy to use on complex spectra.
