MEP to visit University

Research priorities across Europe, particularly focusing on best use of energy, will be on the agenda tomorrow [Friday, May 10] when Giles Chichester, MEP for the South West, visits Bristol University.

Mr Chichester is having talks with senior officers of the University's Research and Enterprise Development Division (RED) and leading academics.

RED is responsible for developing and implementing University research policy and strategy, helping to boost research income and promoting technology transfer. It supports funding bids, contract development and the exploitation of intellectual property.

Barrie Sadler, Commercial Director with RED, said: 'The meeting will be a great opportunity for us to learn more about European funding opportunities and for Giles Chichester to gain an insight into the amazing range of research taking place at the University.'
