Each week during term time, we host a wide range of events and activities, from discussion groups to socials. These are all a great opportunity to meet new people and connect with the Chaplaincy.
OUR TIMETABLE OF WEEKLY EVENTS WILL DRAW TO AN END IN JULY AND WILL RESTART IN SEPTEMBER.
To sign up to these events, email the contact below or click here to book via MyOpps.
BIBLE READING GROUP, TUESDAYS 1.10-2pm (finishing on 27-July)
Students and staff are welcome to join this group, whatever religious views they hold. Each meeting is a chance to read and reflect together on passages from the bible, pondering such questions as “what was the author wanting to say?” and “what meaning could this have for us today?” You don't need to have read the text beforehand or know anything about it: just come and share your thoughts! If you would like to join this group, please get in touch with Mike Peat, Free Church Chaplain. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
READ & DISCOVER, WEDNESDAYS 1pm-2pm (finishing on 28-July)
This group has a specific focus on reading the Bible with International Students, from any background, faith or belief. Each meeting provides an opportunity to read a specific Bible passage, reflect on the context in which it was written, learn to cross reference to relevant passages elsewhere in the Bible, and look at how the passage relates to our everyday life in a modern-day setting. No preparation is required! Simply come along to read, discover and share your thoughts in an informal and relaxed setting! Contact: email@example.com
INTERCULTURAL MINGLE, THURSDAYS 1pm-2.15pm (finishing on 17-June)
A series of interactive socials on Treasures from our Nations, enabling you to make friends and learn more about one another's cultures in a fun and informal environment. This event has a global focus, encouraging intercultural exchange in an inclusive setting. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
LUNCHTIME SOCIAL, FRIDAYS 1pm-2:30pm (finishing on 11-June)
Join us for a bring-your-own lunch on the picnic benches outside the Chaplaincy Centre (1 Woodland Road, BS81TB). This is a great opportunity to get some fresh air in the middle of your busy day and to meet new people. If the weather is bad, we will move the social online for that week. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for any changes. Contact: email@example.com
