Upcoming one-off events
As well as our regular events, we also host a number of annual and one-off events, from tours of different faith centres to services. All these events are run by the Chaplaincy team. Here is a list of our annual and one-off events that the Chaplaincy is running this term.
University of Bristol Christmas Carol Service 2025
We are very pleased to announce that the University of Bristol Christmas Carol Service (December 2025), will going ahead at the Great Hall, Wills Memorial Building.

This month Jacqueline, our International Chaplain, cooked us up a storm of lovely vegetarian South African cuisine. We ate Bobotie and Melktert from the Cape Town region.

A Chaplaincy Christmas - 'Rockin Around the MFC'
12th December 2024
All were welcome to join us for our day of winter festive celebrations Multifaith Chaplaincy style!
The event took place throughout the day with lots of different activities to get involved in (outlined below). There was a delicious selection of freshly made sweet and savoury nibbles and spiced hot drinks.
11:00-13:00 - Christmas crafts
People made festive decoration for their home or our own chaplaincy tree! There were also festive cards available for their friends and loved ones.
13:00-14:30 - Festive Biscotti Workshop
One of our student cooks led a Biscotti workshop, teaching groups how to make fun, flavoured biscotti.
11:00-15:00 - Christmas Reflections (Quiet Room)
What gift do you need this winter season? A time of reflection for visitors of the day on the facets of anxiety and stress the Christmas story draws on
14:45-16:00 - Festive Folk Jam!
Some of our lovely student community from folk band played some classic festive songs together for us to sing along to.
(The title of this event is a play on the song 'Rockin around the Christmas tree', a very popular Christmas song every year in the UK - check it out!)

Faith Crawl
Our termly Faith Crawl celebrates the diversity of culture and religion in our community. Each year on the crawl we visit and learn about three different faith spaces around Bristol. Some of the many venues we have visited over the years include the Shah Jahal Mosque; Sakya Buddhist Centre; Progressive Synagogue; Sikh Gudwara; Hindu Temple, Redland Quaker house and more. Join us for our upcoming Faith Crawl taking place every autumn and spring!

Our Spring term Faith Crawl took place in area of Easton, Bristol - allowing students and staff to explore faith through the different sites we visited, but also the culture and background of a different part of the city

This was our Autumn Faith Crawl in the heart of Interfaith Week. It was a great success, with lots of enthusiasm for another one in the next year.

University of Bristol Carol Service
15th December 2023
The University of Bristol Christmas Carol Service took place at Wills Memorial Building in the Great Hall. +Last year we reflected on the theme of peace and goodwill. All students and staff were invited to join us for traditional Christmas readings, carols and poems; with music from Bristol University Singers and the University Symphonic Chorus. Freshly baked mince pies were also served as part of the service.
