  • Nina Snaith and Oleksiy Klurman are winners at the 2021 Bristol Teaching Awards 18 June 2021 The School of Mathematics is delighted to announce that Dr Nina Snaith and Dr Oleksiy Klurman have won awards at this year’s Bristol Teaching Awards
  • Lynne Heather Walling, 1958 - 2021 15 June 2021 Dr. Lynne Walling, Director of the Institute of Pure Mathematics in the School of Mathematics of the University of Bristol, died on 28 May 2021. Roughly a month before, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. On the evening of Monday 10 May, after having seen a consultant on that day, she called a friend and said, "I'm gonna die. It sucks. I don't have much time. I want a party on Friday.'' She passed away on a Friday morning two weeks later at her Ashley Down home, surrounded by her friends and her pets.
  • Congratulations to Demi Allen 8 June 2021 Congratulations to Demi Allen, Heilbronn Fellow, who has accepted a 3 year Zeeman Lectureship at the University of Warwick starting this summer. The Zeeman Lectureships are named after Sir Christopher Zeeman, FRS, founding Professor of Mathematics at the University of Warwick.

  • £20 million funding boost for the Heilbronn Institute 21 January 2021 A £20 million investment to champion innovation and nurture the greatest minds in mathematical sciences across the UK has been awarded to the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research.
