Costs
Your graduation should be a special day and we want to help you feel that it is affordable. Find out what costs to expect and optional extras so you can plan and budget accordingly.
Your ceremony
There is no charge to attend the ceremony itself.
Tickets
You can book up to two free guest tickets when you register to attend. You can also request entry to a ballot for extra tickets. There is no charge for any ticket. Find out more about tickets.
Gowns
You must wear a gown and hat for your ceremony. You can either hire a gown and hat or buy them. Prices to hire a gown start at £45. You may be eligible for a Graduation Gown Bursary to cover the cost. Find out more about gowns, including how to order.

Photographs
When you hire or purchase a gown, you will have the opportunity to buy official photographs. There are a range of packages available at different prices, starting from £30.
You can also book your official photography separately from your gown online, or in person on the day of your ceremony.
Ordering official photographs is not a requirement. You are allowed to take your own photos.
Films
The ceremony is professionally filmed and you can buy a copy in various formats. You can also buy a digital clip of the moment you walk across the stage and officially graduate. Find out more about films.
Other merchandise
Other memorabilia and merchandise is available if you would like to buy extra gifts or keepsakes.
Travel

Staying in Bristol
If you need to stay overnight in Bristol, we recommend you search for accommodation at Visit Bristol.
Bags and luggage
You will not be able to bring in luggage or large bags to the ceremony. We recommend you travel light or leave your luggage at your place of accommodation. Any small bag you do bring in may be subject to a search for security reasons.
There are left-luggage facilities available in the city if you need to store items. See the Stasher website for locations. These are not very close to the University so we recommend organising this in advance.
