Nuclear Institute Western Branch: How do you design a nuclear power plant?
Robert Hooper, Principal Consultant, Altran UK
Frank Lecture Theatre, HH Wills Physics Building, University of Bristol
To be able to build a nuclear power plant, a Generic Design Assessment (GDA) must be approved by the nuclear regulators. However this process can often seem mysterious and complex to practitioners.
Rob Hooper from Altran UK has been involved in three GDA submissions for new UK nuclear plants and will share his first-hand experiences of successfully completing a GDA.
This is an excellent opportunity to hear about the realities of nuclear new build processes. 18:30 for 19:00 start.
