The University of Bristol has been ranked 43rd in the world for Education Studies by Times Higher Education (THE) in the World University Rankings by Subject 2026. Bristol is ranked 80th overall, with Education Studies the highest ranked subject area.
830 universities from 88 countries and territories were evaluated, and for Education Studies three core disciplines were assessed in the ranking:
- Education studies.
- Teacher training.
- Academic studies in education.
Reflecting on this outstanding achievement, Head of the School of Education Professor William Browne said “We are really pleased that all of our excellent research and teaching within the school has allowed us to maintain our high ranking in the THE table. Of course, rankings are only one measure of success, but it is fantastic to know that our reputation is so well known internationally and is a testament to our excellent and diverse staff and student community.”
