This is a workshop aimed at informing researchers (staff and students) about an exciting new database that comprises the audio files recorded as part of Channel Four's  hit TV series. The database consists of 1400 hours of recordings of children's conversations over 6 weeks, including the vast amount of material never used for broadcast. It will:

  • present the procedures, ethical processes and opportunities for researchers to access this unique resource
  • update on progress regarding the current archiving of the material and
  • discuss what themes you would like to see covered when tagging content - to make this database useful for your research interests
