- Meet our academics: Dr Sebastian Merkel 6 June 2025 Dr Sebastian Merkel joined the University of Bristol as Lecturer in Economics in autumn 2024. His primary research fields include macroeconomics, monetary economics, and finance, and he also undertakes research in computational economics. This year, he’s been teaching International Economics and Finance.
