School Offer Holder Days
Attending an Offer Holder Day will help you decide whether Bristol is the right university for you. Whichever entry route you have applied from, you will be invited to an offer holder day after being made an offer and will have the option of bringing a ‘plus one’ (typically a parent or carer). The programmes for both days will be available as linked pdfs in the column to the right.
What to expect when you attend an Offer Holder Day at the School of Earth Sciences
You might have been to one of our University Open Days where you explored the University precinct and saw some subject talks and displays which helped you decide which course to apply for at Bristol. Post-offer visit days are a follow-up to the general open day and are designed to give you more specific information about our programmes, a taster session of what learning as a student in the School of Earth Sciences is like, and more time to ask any questions you may have about your course. We strongly recommend that you attend an Offer Holder Day if possible even if you came to a University Open Day.
The day should give you a really strong sense of what it will be like to be part of our science community at the University of Bristol. On the day you and your ‘plus one’ will:
- find out more about your course
- undertake a ‘taster’ learning session with content tailored to your chosen course
- take a student-led tour of the buildings and facilities where you will study
- find out more about our teaching materials and how we support our students’ learning at Bristol Earth Sciences
- meet staff and current students and have plenty of opportunities to ask lots of questions
The morning programme is organised centrally by the University and includes information about accommodation, student finance and other support services. Campus tours are also available. The afternoon programme is specifically for offer holders and is about the School of Earth Sciences and the course you have applied for.
