Conferences:

  • Ogu members Jens Holtvoeth, JP Mayser, Gordon Inglis, Leila Behrooz and Rich Pancost attended the British Organic Geochemical Society Annual Meeting 2017 (BOGS 2017) which was held at The Open University in Milton Keynes. Prof. Rich Pancost gave the keynote talk entitled "The Organic Geochemistry of Bogs". The BOGS brush was passed to the OGU who will host the conference in 2018. 
  • 3rd year PhD students Catherine McIntyre, Jon Pemberton, Leila Behrooz and Claudia Chavez gave their final year presentation at the O&B research symposium.   

 

Other news:

  • Once again members of the group took part in the Festival of Nature, a weekend long event which showcases a diverse mix of natural exhibits with links to the natural world. The OGU stand invited members of the public to become ‘Palaeodetectives’, and learn the ways chemistry can be used to discover how small molecules can reveal big messages about the past. The OGU stand was which was organised by Michaela Reay and group members involved in the weekend were Melanie, Hanna, Emmanuelle, Gordon, Michaela, Jens, Matt, Iain and Felipe.
