Building a new two-floor food court in Senate House

22 November 2018

We’re creating spaces to relax at the heart of the campus, including a new two-floor food court in Senate House. To get started on the refurbishment, we need to remove three trees from the courtyard. We’d like you to tell us what you think should happen to the usable wood.

What happens next?
Following good practice, we’ll remove the trees on the 1st or 2nd of December to avoid the bird nesting season. The work should take under three hours and the roads will remain open.

We will replace the trees with tree species of equivalent importance on campus, in accordance with planning approval. The University has a proud record of looking after more than 5,000 trees and we replace trees we remove on campus.

Give us your ideas
We’ll have wood that can put to good use, so we’re looking for your ideas about what we should create with it.
