Next-generation sequencing and library preparation

The Bristol Genomics Facility offers next-generation sequencing on the NextSeq 2000, one of the newest high-throughput sequencing instruments made by Illumina.

The Illumina NextSeq 2000 is a very versatile system, perfect for the sequencing of whole genomes and transcriptomes, but also capable of generating a range of outputs and read lengths suited for amplicon sequencing. The instrument uses XLEAP SBS™ chemistry, Illumina's fastest, highest quality, and most robust sequencing by synthesis (SBS) chemistry to date. We offer a range of next-generation sequencing library preparation services and are happy to consider custom library preparation options to assist your research.

Illumina NextSeq 2000 sequencing

Our NextSeq 2000 instrument can generate a wide range of read lengths and outputs, which range from 50 base pair (bp) single reads to 300 bp paired-end reads. The available flow cells can generate between 10 Million and 3.6 Billion reads. For the full range of possibilities see the Illumina website.
