Teaching Technicians Team win University Award!

9 May 2014

Biological Sciences Teaching Technicians team win the University Award for Education in the Faculty of Science as part of the 2014 Bristol Teaching Awards.

The School is extremely pleased and very proud to announce that our teaching technicians team - Maggie Gamble, Sue Holwell, Steve Martin, Annabelle Donnell and Sue Coe - have just been awarded a University Award for Education in recognition of their excellent contribution to education and enhancement of the student experience over many years of dedicated service.

The team provides invaluable support for both students and academic staff in designing and running practicals, helping to prepare and run field courses, and they play a key role in organising and running open days along with our widening participation activities. They have coped with the massive changes in our teaching practice over recent years with goodwill and an inspiring can-do attitude and regularly go the extra mile without being asked. Over the past five years they have been heavily involved in designing and equipping the new teaching labs in the new Life Sciences Building and planning the move. This crucial work is in addition to their core jobs, but has been tackled with enthusiasm and imagination.
