Global Slaveries Research Cluster: '1745' Film Screening

The Global Slaveries Research Cluster and the Centre for Black Humanities are hosting a screening and discussion of ‘1745’. 1745 is an award-winning short film inspired by a ‘runaway slave’ advert placed in an eighteenth-century Scottish newspaper. The film imagines the experience of two Yoruba enslaved women as they are pursued through the Scottish Highlands by their enslaver, and was made in collaboration with historians from the University of Glasgow. 

The screening will be followed by a rountable discusssion with refreshments provided.
