5 October 2014
PhD student Alys Cundy has secured an appointment as Administrator at the Handel House Museum, London, where she will manage a team of eight staff. She holds an AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award with the University of Bristol and the Imperial War Museum, London, and is on course to submit her thesis in November 2014.
She writes that the Handel House Museum is based in the townhouse where Handel lived from 1723 to 1759 and consists of a number of recreated Georgian rooms and exhibition spaces, where concerts and music rehearsals are regularly held. As part of a HLF-funded capital project the museum is currently developing a permanent exhibition on Jimi Hendrix in the flat, next door to Handel House, in which he lived in the 1960s.
