Mike O'Mahony's conference panel 'Picturing the Game' for 'Soccer as the Beautiful Game' is reported in New York Times online
Mike O'Mahony will be giving a paper entitled The Art of Goalkeeping: Memorializing Lev Yashin at the international conference Soccer as the Beautiful Game: Football's Artistry, Identity and Politics held at Hofstra University, New York on 10 April 2014. The paper will be part of the panel Picturing the Game: Soccer in Art which will open the conference. The event is being held in anticipation of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and will explore the historical, political, economic and humanitarian impact of football globally. As part of the celebration, football legend Pelé will be present at a special Gala dinner and will be awarded an honorary degree.
