Dr Dorothy Rowe Price has recently been awarded a contract from Leicester County Council to provide a series of expert reports assessing the importance of Leicester's German Expressionist art collection as part of a major redevelopment programme of the collection funded by the Arts Council of England. Dr Price will be working with Dr Jill Lloyd (London) and Dr Christian Weikop (Edinburgh) in the research, production and dissemination of the reports. The Leicester collection comprises 17 oil paintings and 450 works on paper, along with significant archival holdings and particular strengths in Die Brücke and Der Blaue Reiter. It is a collection of international significance and the commissioned reports will contribute to the future understanding, preservation and displays of the collection in a newly refurbished and dedicated gallery opening in Summer 2014.
