At this morning's graduation ceremony in the Great Hall, two members of the Bristol History of Art department's Postgraduate Research community received their PhDs: Dr Catherine Hunt (who previously worked in the Secretary's Office of the University) received her PhD for a dissertation on 'The Depiction of Gloves in Western Art, 1400-1660'; Dr Theresa Vella (who is a museum consultant for The Palace in Valletta, and previously senior curator of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Malta) received her PhD for a dissertation on The Paintings of the Order of St John in Malta: the origins and growth of the collection from the late 16th century to the late 18th century'.

In addition the MA graduates of 2011-12 took their degrees today, with six of them receiving MA with distinction.
