Paper on HIV treatment adherence published in JCM
8 October 2018
The paper "Identifying Risk of Viral Failure in Treated HIV-Infected Patients Using Different Measures of Adherence: The Antiretroviral Therapy Cohort Collaboration" has been published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.
The paper reports that both self-reported and pharmacy measures of adherence were strongly associated with viral failure. Although adherence measurements over longer time-frames were preferable for prediction, they were less useful for intervention.
