Key facts

The University

The University of Bristol is one of the best universities in the UK. We consistently rank well in league tables that draw on information about research and teaching excellence.

The University has a rich history, dating back to 1876. Our graduates have made scientific discoveries, started businesses, written books and starred in films. We are also associated with twelve Nobel Laureates.

The programme

Our three tailored pathways prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice and help develop your academic English. For students with a higher level of English, we offer the International Foundation Programme Plus.

Studying on our International Foundation Programme guarantees you a conditional offer from the University of Bristol. When you complete the programme, you can progress to an agreed degree relevant to your previous studies.* Our programme is also recognised by other UK universities.

You will also have the opportunity to be involved in Bristol Futures. This initiative will help you develop core academic skills and key personal attributes.

The location

The International Foundation Programme is taught on campus in the heart of Bristol. The city is renowned for its historic buildings, green credentials, thriving arts scene and cultural diversity. It is within easy reach of other UK and European destinations.

As a student here, you will be based in our specially designed study centre. Fully integrated into the University, you can access all our academic, social and sports facilities. You will be guaranteed accommodation, with some single-sex and alcohol-free options available.

The people

Trained staff will offer support throughout the application process.

Upon arrival, you will be given an extensive induction programme. You will also have access to all our support services and a personal progression tutor to advise you on your academic path.

You will study with other international students from around the world. To date, we have taught students from 60 countries. The University also has a wealth of cultural and religious societies that can help you feel at home.
