The James Spence Medal “is awarded for outstanding contributions to the advancement or clarification of paediatric knowledge" and is the highest honour bestowed by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
The award is made annually on the recommendation of RCPCH Council on the advice of RCPCH Executive Committee. The medal is presented at the RCPCH Conference along with a volume of the collected writings of Sir James Spence.
